Nestled in between Dimond, Piedmont and Trestle Glen, Glenview is a good-looking area of bungalows and some larger homes. You’ll see a lot of Mission Revival architecture among the Craftsman and California style homes, with some beautiful renovations, as well as some ready for updates. Construction in the area started in the 1920s, when “Glenview Heights” offered new homes on the outskirts of Oakland, The location offers a desirable blend of laid-back vibes, charm, and commuting access.

Neighborhood spirit is strong here - there are frequent block parties, and the Glenview Neighborhood Association is active in promoting traffic safety, neighborhood beautification, and community activities like the annual Ice Cream Social. The area is highly walkable, with the expansive Dimond Park adjacent, and a retail and dining scene on Park Boulevard that continues to grow more vibrant. Buzzy restaurants like Bellanico and Marzano have arrived, and the local homeowners keep businesses like the hardware store busy.

Families of all types reside here and become involved with the Glenview Elementary and Edna Brewer Middle School. You’ll also see young professionals, singles and retirees in the mix of residents. Commuting is popular, with freeway access close by. There’s also a robust “casual carpool” scene on Park Boulevard for workers headed into San Francisco. Glenview is popular for all the good reasons, and has a strong market for its single-family home
